Banking Event Normalization Pipeline
Canonical transaction modeling across heterogeneous banking systems
Overview
This project focuses on unifying transaction data emitted by multiple banking systems into a single, canonical event model suitable for analytics, reconciliation, and AI workloads.
Ingestion & Normalization
- Built ingestion pipelines to consume raw transaction events from multiple heterogeneous banking sources
- Handled differences in schemas, field semantics, timestamp formats, and identifiers
- Normalized events into a consistent canonical schema with strong typing guarantees
Event Semantics & Evolution
- Designed the canonical model to support schema evolution without breaking downstream consumers
- Implemented versioned transformations to preserve historical correctness
- Handled late-arriving events and reprocessing scenarios safely
Downstream Enablement
- Enabled consistent analytics across transaction sources without custom logic per system
- Served as a clean foundation for AI, fraud detection, and financial reporting use cases
- Reduced coupling between upstream banking systems and downstream consumers
